How can ProTecta Spray Lube take so much pressure when the product seems to dry onto the metal?
Answer:
Unlike leading competitive products that use light oils for their main lubricating formula, ProTecta employs extreme pressure additives. The extreme pressure additives in ProTecta actually bond to the metal. Once they are onto the metal they are able to take heavy loads of friction. The unique engineering of this product is that ProTecta dries onto the metal thus not attracting dust and dirt like other products. Some people think that the product is gone, whereas it is still functioning. ProTecta is excellent for chains and other applications where dust and dirt is a concern. When compared to the leading brand on a Timken Test Device, the leading brand will withstand 150 lbs. of pressure with seizure of the test bearing. This is 30 lbs. more than dry. On the other hand, ProTecta will go over 600 lbs with almost no wear on the test bearing. For heavy use to reduce friction and squeaks use ProTecta.
